THE NEXT ROCK STARS SHOULDN’T HAVE TO DROP OUT OF SCHOOL
Let There Be Rock Schools and NPU America launch Let There Be Rock Academy, a new educational program giving aspiring musicians the freedom to chase their passion without sacrificing their academic future.
For generations, aspiring musicians have been told that at some point they have to choose: the classroom or the stage. Education or passion. The diploma or the dream.
Let There Be Rock Schools and NPU America believe the next rock star shouldn’t have to make that choice.
Today, the two organizations announced the launch of Let There Be Rock Academy, a new dual-path educational program where aspiring musicians can seriously develop their craft while completing a personalized academic program leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
The idea is simple: The next rock star shouldn’t have to drop out of school to chase the dream.

INTRODUCING LET THERE BE ROCK ACADEMY

Let There Be Rock Academy brings together two worlds that have traditionally competed for a student’s time:
music and academics.
Through the Academy, students will experience Let There Be Rock Schools’ immersive approach to music education—mastering their instruments, playing in bands, performing live and developing a deeper understanding of the music industry.
At the same time, NPU America provides a flexible and personalized academic experience designed to work alongside each student’s musical ambitions. Students can earn the credits required for the OSSD while building an academic foundation for post-secondary opportunities around the world.
“This is about removing the idea that young musicians eventually have to choose between getting serious about their music and getting serious about their education,” said Scott Maceron (Founder & CEO, LET THERE BE ROCK SCHOOLS) “Let There Be Rock Academy gives them the opportunity to go all-in on both.”
SCHOOL, REMIXED.
Traditional education often treats music as something that happens after the “real work” is finished.

LET THERE BE ROCK ACADEMY FLIPS THAT THINKING
Music isn’t simply an extracurricular activity. A student’s passion becomes part of their educational journey, supported by an academic program designed to provide the flexibility needed to pursue both.
“Education should expand a student’s possibilities, not limit them,” said Scott McLeod Founder & CEO, NPU America. “By creating Let There Be Rock Academy together, we provide academic accountability and flexibility that students need to pursue what drives them, while keeping their future opportunities wide open.”
Whether their future leads to the stage, studio, music industry, university or somewhere entirely different, Let There Be Rock Academy is designed to help students develop their talent without closing the door on their education.
Because the mythology of rock & roll may celebrate dropping out to chase the dream.
The next generation shouldn’t have to.
