Knowing Ian for more than 20 years, I attended several Let There Be Rock Schools - Frederick live shows, and watched his kids progress in their musical talents over the years. During those shows I kept thinking back to when I was in school and how my friends and I would have loved to have access to something like it. I am a drummer and played in multiple bands through High School, College, and eventually Law School where I met up with another law student playing in a band called Eric’s Mother. Eventually they asked me to join the band, and we went on to make a full-length studio album (Northern Lights Haze available on all streaming platforms). It was produced by Joe Harvard of Ft. Apache studios who worked with Pixies, Dinosaur Jr., The Lemonheads, Throwing Muses and others. Eric’s Mother played in alternative rock venues everywhere between NY and Chicago including CBGB’s and opened for Smashing Pumpkins, Urge Overkill, and Jesus Lizard in the early 90s. So, when Ian approached me to partner with him in opening a Leesburg school it was easy for me to say YES. We are a modern, live performance-driven music school - committed to offering individual and group instruction services to our community. Our mission at Let There Be Rock School - Leesburg is to share the gift of all styles of music, while providing a fun and safe learning environment for our students. The lessons we deliver extend far beyond music. Music participation allows young people to learn valuable life skills, such as communication, dedication, and collaboration. Involvement with music has also been correlated with improved academic performance and discipline. Our staff is made up of passionate, accomplished musicians who are dedicated to inspiring creativity, while bringing out the best in our students. Let There Be Rock - Leesburg serves musicians of all levels, whether students are picking up their instruments for the very first time or looking to join a band.
