MEET DYLAN HOWES
Owner & School Director
Dylan Howes has spent more than 20 years performing, teaching, and inspiring musicians of all ages. A graduate of UMBC with bachelor's degrees in Music Technology and Music Composition and a master's degree in Music Education from Mount St. Mary's University, Dylan has dedicated his career to helping students grow both musically and personally. Before opening Let There Be Rock School Eldersburg, Dylan taught at Let There Be Rock School Frederick, served as Director of Education at Fusion Academy Loudoun, and mentored more than thirty educators. As bassist for Stone Horses, he has toured nationally, shared the stage with artists including The Winery Dogs, Steel Panther, and Brother Cane, and performed on music that has reached Billboard's Active Rock charts and earned more than one million Spotify streams. Dylan believes music education is about much more than learning an instrument. It develops confidence, resilience, creativity, teamwork, and the courage to step outside your comfort zone. His goal is to create an environment where every student feels welcomed, challenged, and supported. Whether they're preparing for the stage or simply discovering the joy of making music.
MEET JULI HOWES
Co-Owner & Operations Director
Juli Howes brings a passion for organization, community, and creating positive experiences for every family who walks through the doors. While she works primarily behind the scenes, she is committed to building a welcoming environment where students can focus on learning, growing, and enjoying music. Juli earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus and has built her career in corporate finance. She currently serves on a two-person finance team supporting more than 300 employees and large-scale federal projects, bringing extensive experience in financial management, operations, and organizational leadership to the school. For Juli, the most rewarding part of Let There Be Rock School is seeing the confidence students gain through music and the friendships they build along the way. She believes that when families feel welcomed and supported, students are free to take creative risks, celebrate their accomplishments, and discover what they're capable of. Her goal is to help create a community where every student feels they belong from the very first day.
