Sending Communications (Email/SMS)
Step 1: Navigate to the Communication Tool
The communication tool is located under the Reports tab.
Scroll to the bottom and click Send Email/SMS.

Step 2: Set Primary Filters (Group, Status, and Type)
Group Selection (Top Section): Choose the population the system should search through: Students Only, Parents Only, Teachers Only, and Students and Parents.
Status Option: Choose between Active, Inactive, or Both.
Message Type: Select either Email or SMS. This is important to change when sending the different message types so the list populates with emails or phone numbers, respectively.

Step 3: Apply Quick Filters
Use the Quick Filters section to refine your search with precision by:
A specific teacher.
A student's name.
A birth month.
Custom tags made in the system.
Band name.
The plan they are signed up for.

Step 4: Apply Scheduling Filters
The Scheduling Filters allow you to search based on lesson times or types.
NOTE: For these search filters to work, you must always set a date range first.
You can search by a specific day of the week or a certain lesson type.

Step 5: Search and Refine the Recipient List
Once you have set up your filters, hit the Search button. This will populate a list with everyone that applies.
From that list, you can always click the blue check mark next to their name to deselect them so they do not get messaged.

Step 6: Compose and Send the Message
You always have to hit Search first before hitting the button for sending a message.
Next, hit the button for the type of message you want to send: either Email or SMS/Text.
A box or boxes will appear where you will put the message. You may have to fix the formatting of text, especially if you copy and paste into the box.
Duplicate Assurance: Do not worry about people showing up multiple times on the list; all duplicates are removed, and they only get one message.
